Hello friends!

Sam here, Founder & Branding Director of LocalEcho Collective.

My story begins after years of being fed the same tired business advice: “Run more ads. Post more. Use all the platforms.”

I knew there had to be another way. One that wasn’t built on algorithms.

The answer came one morning, from a barista who shares my slightly immature sense of humour. I ordered my usual take away dirty chai and, after zoning out checking emails, my name was called for pick up.

Not only was I presented with a great cup of coffee but, I was gifted with the suggestive word, “Dirty” as well as a smile scribed on the lid.

Now… did I post a shameless insta story, tagging the business to share with all my contacts?

Absolutely.

That doodle did more than label my drink. It made me smile, feel seen as a customer and connected to the staff through our new ‘in-joke.’

It turned a regular coffee run into a story worth sharing. And that’s exactly what happens when brands swap sterile online strategies for small, human gestures.
